Job Summary
The Electrical Construction Superintendent is a project based role supporting the Curlew Basin Restart construction program. The incumbent will be a key member of the construction management team, reporting directly to the Construction Manager. The Superintendent will oversee all day-to-day aspects of electrical construction activities on-site.
Essential Functions
-Oversee and coordinate the electrical installations and systems throughout the project, ensuring that all electrical work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
-Review and enforce adherence to project plans, drawings, and specifications for all electrical works.
-In partnership with the Field Engineer, inspect electrical works regularly to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
-Identify and address deviations or deficiencies in construction activities to minimize delays.
-Review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications, and provide feedback to ensure that all installations align with project requirements and goals.
-Maintain and submit detailed daily progress reports, including electrical construction activities, labor hours, equipment usage, weather conditions, and documentation such as permits and inspection records.
-Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure constructability.
-Act as the liaison between contractors, other on-site disciplines, and the project management team.
-Provide direction to contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
-Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings to align electrical construction activities with overall project priorities.
-Provide regular updates to the Construction Management Team on the status of electrical works and any emerging challenges.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
-Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
-Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical construction supervision, preferably in mining or heavy industrial projects.
-Proven track record of overseeing large-scale electrical works, including earthworks, concrete, and infrastructure projects.
-Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment specific to electrical works.
-Familiarity with mine safety regulations (e.g., MSHA) and environmental standards.
-Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
-Valid Driver’s License
