Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Type: Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong design background and experience in developing jigs and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs (preferably using Creo or equivalent CAD software)
- Develop and control jigs and fixtures for manufacturing and assembly processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project objectives
- Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications
- Support continuous improvement activities related to product design and manufacturing efficiency
Requirements:
- Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design – Creo or similar software preferred
- Strong mechanical design background with a focus on jigs and fixtures
- Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
