Position Overview:
We are hiring full-time Trailer Jockeys to support our Schenectady, NY distribution center. This is a local-only position focused on trailer movements within the yard and loading areas. Drivers work within a structured, safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Move trailers between docks, staging lanes, parking areas, and tandem zones
-Operate yard tractors and tractor-trailers safely in a high-volume DC environment
-Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse operations for efficient freight movement
-Perform light trailer prep or loading tasks as assigned
-Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
-Maintain accurate documentation and yard logs
Position Requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years old
-Valid CDL-A permit or license
-Current DOT medical card
-Clean MVR and driver abstract
-Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
-Able to lift up to 100 lbs and maneuver equipment in tight spaces
-Prior yard jockey, spotter, or local CDL driving experience preferred
Compensation & Schedule:
-Pay range: $19.00 – $24.95 per hour based on experience
-Weekly pay with overtime opportunities
