Senior Architectural Technologist

Location: Cambridge

Salary: GBP40-50,000

An innovative and well-established design practice is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join its Cambridge studio. This permanent position provides the chance to take a lead role in delivering outstanding projects across a wide range of sectors. The role involves overseeing the technical design process and ensuring projects are executed to the highest level. Combining technical expertise with design sensitivity, you will work closely with clients, consultants, and team members to produce well-considered, practical solutions. This is a role suited to someone with strong leadership skills, precision, and the ability to guide and support project teams in a fast-paced studio setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical delivery and coordination of projects from initial concept through to completion

Produce, review, and oversee comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and associated documents
*

Ensure all work complies with current Building Regulations, statutory requirements, and industry standards
*

Collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve successful outcomes
*

Mentor and support junior colleagues, helping to foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture

Qualifications & Skills

Degree, HNC, or HND in Architectural Technology
*

CIAT Chartered Membership (or working towards) desirable
*

Proven background in technical design and project delivery
*

Strong knowledge of BIM processes and proficiency with standard industry software
*

Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
*

Experience working across multiple sectors (e.g., education, residential, industrial) advantageous
*

Ability to manage several live projects simultaneously with strong organisational skills
