What you'll do
In recent years, the integration of AI libraries into software has become increasingly common, providing powerful capabilities such as data analysis, predictive modeling, and automated decision-making. However, alongside these benefits, the potential risks of integrating malicious AI libraries pose significant threats to software security and integrity.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist in developing a scanner that detects malicious AI libraries in source code. This internship offers an opportunity to work with our experienced software development and cybersecurity teams, gaining hands-on experience in AI, software integration, and security measures.
Key objectives :
-Research and identify characteristics of malicious AI libraries, developing a comprehensive understanding of how they can be integrated with legitimate software systems.
-Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to analyze existing detection mechanisms and devise effective strategies for spotting malicious AI code.
-Develop and test a scanner tool that successfully identifies and flags suspicious AI libraries within source code.
-Suggest improvements to current software integration practices to safeguard against malicious activities.
-Document findings and maintain records of detected issues, resolutions, and recommendations.
-Attend team meetings and provide progress updates on the development of the scanner tool.

Meet your team
The internship will be based at the SAP Labs France site, where the candidate will join a team dedicated to security testing and open-source software security. The team’s primary mission is to empower SAP developers to deliver secure software.
Duration: 6 months
Start date: September 2025
INTERNSHIP In accordance with the French legislation, for any duration over 2 months, this internship is paid in line with the SAP gratification grid.
