Role Summary
The Compliance Coordinator will be using independent and collaborative professional judgment in everyday decision making. Attention to detail, accuracy in work, and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously are essential to the success of this role. Reviewing existing internal processes and policies against changing federal regulations is a key part of the responsibilities, as well as gaining a strong understanding of institutional, state, federal, and private aid eligibility and awarding rules. The Compliance Coordinator may interact with students as needed to assist with financial plans and ensure compliance with student forms.
Examples of Work Performed
• Use independent and collaborative professional judgment in everyday decision making.
• Research and prepare institutional responses to federal identity theft/fraud investigations.
• Assist with internal compliance reviews and maintain departmental compliance records.
• Assist with federal audits by assembling documents for submission.
• Research inquiries and interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Review office policies on a scheduled cycle and help to research changing regulations when necessary.
• Provide guidance concerning the application of institutional and external regulatory code.
• Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, and other applicable regulatory code.
• Assist with preparation of institutional reports relating to regulatory rules compliance.
• Use web based systems to prepare reports and monitor records.
• Ensure proper completion of student forms, awarding, and compliance in Consortium Agreement situations.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Collects, compiles, and organizes reports for a defined compliance program and communicates data to internal and external stakeholders when appropriate.
2. Issues compliance communications and provides education and resources to inquiring entities.
3. Assists with the creation of manuals and maintains compliance materials in accordance with established laws and regulations.
4. Creates and maintains compliance communication materials and updates platforms with changes when appropriate.
