Project Overview:
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
This role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe working practices and conditions in the workplace. Ensure that all assembly work (materials, method and workmanship) comply with contractual and design requirements. To be in contact with the client and to ensure that the inspection points designated by the client are complied with. Assist with the coordination and compilation of the Manufacturer's Data Report. Perform a general inspection on all tank assembly work. The job includes field inspections and physical ability: walking extensively in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Must be able to wear the standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life jacket, lifting buckets, etc.). Must have the ability to get in and out of the project.
Major Responsibilities:
-Coordinating and leading inspections of completed tank erection works, prior to and after welding activities.
-Ensuring material deliveries for tank steel plate works comply with drawings and specifications.
-Coordinating all material deliveries, schedule, dimension control and resolve clash issues with suppliers and Tank design engineers.
-Providing technical input to Tank Erection Superintendents.
-Coordinating with Engineering on plate erection constructability and design issues.
-Making quantity taking, control, reporting and forecasting of all the quantities of tank plates in the assigned areas.
-Directing the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, equipment, tools, and consumables, and coordinating through Procurement to obtain these materials.
-Monitoring direct hire and subcontract plate erection operations and activities to ensure materials, equipment and quality comply with design and specifications.
-Planning and recommending procedures to be implemented by tank erection superintendents and subcontractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements for safety, engineering, specifications, meeting quality and schedule requirements.
-Coordinating activities with other discipline engineers and client resident representatives, as necessary to meet project objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to the position, and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Knowledge of engineering, construction methods, sequence, and processes for plate steel erection.
-Experience with Microstation or AutoCad or the ability to understand, interpret, and create 2D drawings.
-Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet applications.
-Ability to work with multi-national employees and across different languages.
